PBS has a interesting show on this evening starting at 9pm (CT). Here's a preview and a link to the website. If you miss it, you can catch it again, just check your local listings.

FRONTLINE's The Undertaking, coming October 30 at 9 pm on PBS, enters the world of Thomas Lynch, a writer, poet and undertaker whose family for three generations has cared for both the living and the dead in a small Michigan town. Through the intimate stories of families coming to terms with grief, mortality, and a funeral’s rituals, the film illuminates the heartbreak and beauty in the journey taken between the living and the dead when a loved one dies.

HONKY TONK SATURDAY NIGHT

Hello friends,
I would like to thank all the great folks at IN YOUR HEAD for the hospitality last night. I had a great time, and I appreciate all of the fans who had the opportunity to call in. It got a bit X-rated at times, but it was all in the name of a good time!

This Saturday night, I will have the pleasure of managing my old friends "The Honky Tonk Man" and "The Mountain Man." We will be at the Senior Citizens building in Lucedale, MS at 8:00 pm. It will be a sellout, so if you live in the area and plan to attend, GET THERE EARLY!
Be Blessed.

SERIOUS MESSAGE - ALL WRESTLERS AND PROMOTERS

WWE Superstar and my friend Matt hardy recently fought off a staph infection. Notice the area on his right pec.

Considering my experience within funeral service and wrestling as well, I am extremely concerned about the recent media coverage of staph infection. Seriously folks, there are people dying out there from infections, and unless we pay immediate attention to what we are doing, one of our own could be next.

The term MRSA, or methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus, is used to describe dangerous strains of bacteria that have grown resistant to commonly used antibiotics. Methicillin was an antibiotic used many years ago to treat patients with Staphylococcus aureus infections. It is now no longer used except as a means of identifying this particular type of antibiotic resistance. The organism Staphylococcus aureus (Staph) is found on many healthy people’s skin and causes no major problems. However, if it gets inside the body, for instance under the skin or into the lungs, it can cause perilous infections such as boils or pneumonia.

Staph infections have ALWAYS been a problem in professional wrestling. My own son Daniel, acquired one early in his ring career last year and had to be hospitalized. It's not something to play with! There was, and still is, a real need to clean filthy ring gear, and the ring itself! A recent analysis of sports equipment has shown that it harbors mold, fungus, ecoli, blood, and Staphylococcus bacteria (the strain that causes MRSA) growing on the equipment.

Promoters have a duty to make certain that their equipment is clean, and that their wrestlers are protected. Talent themselves should ALWAYS pay close attention to any open wound, and wash your gear after every event!

A WORD TO THE WISE!

Kane Debuts... Brian Pillman's Death...

On this date in 1997, at The Keil Center in St. Louis, my "son" Kane made his first appearance with me during the Hell In A Cell match between The Undertaker and HBK. Just a couple of hours before we went on the air, we learned the the body of Brian Pillman had been found in his hotel room in Minneapolis, MN. What an up and down day, that I will never forget.

Be Blessed.
