PLOTS-N-TOMBSTONES ART CONTEST

Without a doubt one of my biggest fans, as well as The Undertaker and Kane's, is Megan Seekings who runs the PLOTS-N-TOMBSTONES FAN CLUB dedicated to us.  She has been running a contest with the members asking for submissions of artwork, where I would select a winner and feature it on the splash page of PercyPringle.com.  Here are a few of the submissions, and you may click on my website on November 1st, to see the winner I selected.  Megan is an extremely talented artist in her own right, and presented me with an original oil painting shortly after my wife passed away, called "Dianna's Tree" which hangs in my home.

BREAST CANCER - Not Just October

I posted this BLOG a couple of weeks ago, but I feel it is so important I want to post it again as we are in the final weekend of October.  Breast Cancer Awareness shouldn't be limited to just this month, we need to be aware of this dreaded disease 365 days every year.  If you folks didn't know that October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month, you must have your head buried in the sand.  Everywhere you turned this month, be it television, radio, print media, the internet, or from a friend like me with first hand experience, we are reminded of this horrible disease.
On January 31, 2009 Breast Cancer tore the love of my life for over 30-years from my arms.  The facts being that she survived two battles with the beast over an 8-year period, then cancer returned ravaging her body and taking her life.

Everytime I see or hear the words Breast Cancer, the memories flood back for me.  Folks let me tell you from the point of view of a man that had to stand by and watch the mother of his sons, and the grandmother of his granddaughters, be destroyed by it.  She could stand toe to toe with me for decades, but when the dust settled, she couldn't have her hand raised in victory over Breast Cancer.

Dianna's mother is a Breast Cancer survivor.  She has five (5) sisters, and Thank God not one of them has been diagnosed YET.  Dianna bitched at her sisters all the time about getting their annual checkups.  Knowing what their chances were to follow in her footsteps.
Tears flood my eyes writing this, and especially recalling the moment the photo above was taken.  I call it "goodbye time".  I hate to hear anybody having to endure the pain that my Dianna, and our family went through.  But yet it happens every hour of every day. Breast Cancer kills. Breast Cancer destroys families.  Breast Cancer must be stopped.

I thought about writing about Dianna's entire battle, from her first diagnosis until we lost her.  Holding her hand during the painful surgeries, chemo and radiation treatments, seeing her beautiful hair fall to the floor.  However, I have covered that ground before, and feel less may be more in my writings today.

What can we do?  We can start by you ladies out there getting the checkups that your physicians tell you to get, and do for yourselves in the privacy of your home.  We can start by us men hounding the ladies that we love, until they do the right thing.  We can donate to the Breast Cancer groups out there, and they are not hard to find.  My personal favorite is the Susan G. Komen (click on the name) For The Cure Breast Cancer Foundation.

I miss my Dianna more than words can tell.  It's been almost 21-months, and it seems like yesterday.  Please don't let it happen to you, or to the ones you love.  Catch this beast at it's earliest stages.  Do the right thing, whatever that may be in each of your individual situations.  Just do something....

Be Blessed.

Four years ago today...

On this day in 2006, my brother Harry W. Moody III fondly known to all as "Bubba" died from a valiant battle with brain and lung cancer.  It seems like yesterday.
Beautiful memories are wonderful things.
They last till the longest day,
They never wear out,
They never get lost,
And can never be given away.
To some you may be forgotten.
To others a part of their past.
But to us who loved and lost you.
Your memory will always last.
Will miss you as much today
as we did four years ago.

Be Blessed.

BURIED ALIVE

Hello my friends,
It's another PPV weekend, BRAGGING RIGHTS on Sunday, 8pm (ET).  The Main Event sees my son Kane against The Undertaker in a Buried Alive match.  This unique bout is the 5th Buried Alive Match in WWE history, the first being on October 20, 1996.  Kane's World Heavyweight Championship is on the line, and the winner will be the Champion.

Other outstanding matches will see, WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett (with John Cena); Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown (WWE Bragging Rights Tag Team Elimination Match); United States Champion Daniel Bryan vs. Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler; a Divas Championship Match, and much more.  You can get all the info by clicking on this link: BRAGGING RIGHTS PPV.

Once again I appreciate all the the media interviews yesterday that I did about the PPV, that allowed me to talk about Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and share my late's wife's personal Breast Cancer story with thousands.

Be Blessed,
~Percy

Breast Cancer and me... and you too.

We are halfway through the month of October.  If you folks don't know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, you must have your head buried in the sand.  Everywhere you turn this month, be it television, radio, print media, the internet, or from a friend like me with first hand experience, we are reminded of this horrible disease.

Quick look back on The Tide... Onward to Oregon...

I read this morning that the only certainty in college football in this day and age is there are no certainties. There are no sure wins, no absolutes, no teams that can't be beaten.  I've always been aware of that, and rarely boast about THE CRIMSON TIDE because we've been there so many times.  In a way, I'm kind of glad that that weight has been lifted off our backs.  We can move on... kudos to South Carolina.
Off to Portland, OR very shortly for SMACKDOWN taping tomorrow, that will show on Friday on The SyFy Network.  Going to be a very long day, notwithstanding a very long flight.  You know how out of practice this old man is.  LOL
Portland is a very beautiful area, as you can see from the photo above with Mount Hood in the background.  Take care my friends, and you can follow my Oregon adventure on on my TWITTER account by just clicking here: http://twitter.com/wweURNiverse

Last evening... This afternoon...

What a wonderful evening last night with the greatest country singer of all time, George Jones.  Nothing like hanging out with your heroes and friends.  Thanks to George, his wonderful wife Nancy, his band "The Jones Boys", and all of his crew for making us feel so welcome.

THE ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE steps on the field this afternoon at 2:30 pm, on CBS, with South Carolina.  Should be another good one.  ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Be Blessed.

HAPPY POSSUM DAY!!!

IT'S POSSUM DAY
ON THE GULF COAST!
Anybody that knows me, or visits my Website, my Facebook Fan Page or my Twitter Account, knows that I am without a doubt one of the biggest (in more ways than one) George Jones fans around.  Tonight "The Possum" returns to the IP Casio Biloxi for another one of his legendary concerts.
I've loved George's music since I was a kid, and always dreamed of meeting him.  That wish finally came true in the early 1990s, as the photo above shows one of my favorite memories.  Through the years my late wife Dianna, and sometimes my sister and my niece, would be at any Possum event within reasonable driving distance.  The first time he returned to the coast after Dianna died, I just couldn't bring myself going without her.  Then the second time came, and I knew that she would want me to be there. I have no doubt she was there with me that night, and she'll be there tonight.

I've lost count of the times I've been to his concerts, and treasure my friendship with his dear wife Nancy, his band "The Jones Boys", and crew.  They are first class folks that I love to death, always making me welcome anywhere that I might pop in.

So... tonight I leave my problems and enjoy some Possum time. I'm taking my parents, and sister with me as well.  It's gonna be a good 'un!

Be Blessed.

SMACKDOWN ON SyFy Network Tonight!

The super heroes of THE WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION have a new home, as tonight SMACKDOWN will arrive on The Syfy Network. SMACKDOWN debuted more than 10 years ago, is one of the longest-running weekly episodic shows on television.

Featuring a star-studded cast of WWE Superstars and Divas, Friday Night SMACKDOWN delivers a shot of adrenaline to Syfy's lineup and brings over-the-top action, feats of athleticism beyond the reach of mortal men, and WWE's special brand of drama. Larger-than-life personalities like Undertaker and his long lost manger Paul Bearer, Kane, Rey Mysterio, Michelle McCool and Beth Phoenix, among many others, are set to deliver their explosive power to Syfy's Friday night lineup and remind viewers that it takes more than muscle to Imagine Greater.
The COUNTDOWN TO SMACKDOWN will kickoff at 6pm (CT) this evening, with the live event from Oklahoma City, OK beginning at 7pm (CT).
Don't miss history in the making!

Be Blessed.

OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

On January 31, 2009, I lost my wife of 30-years, Dianna, to breast cancer.  This horrible disease can stike anyone, anytime, and any place.  Please be aware of the dangers and make sure ladies, that you get your regular checkups... it is a matter of life and death.  Remember, October is breast cancer awareness month... be aware... be very aware.

Be Blessed.
